Haridwar - Barkot - Yamunotri - Uttarkashi – Gangotri - Rishikesh - Haridwar

Tour Description

A Himalayan pilgrimage through Uttarakhand’s Garhwal region: drive from Haridwar/Dehradun into the mountains to Yamunotri, source of the Yamuna with the Goddess Yamuna temple and hot springs at Janki Chatti, then head to Gangotri, where the Ganga begins as the Bhagirathi beside the snow-capped peaks.

  • Day 01 : Haridwar Rly station – Transfer to hotel

    Arrival Haridwar Railway Station, Meet & Assist by our representative/driver and transfer to hotel.After some rest visit Mansa Devi temple, Bharat Mata temple, Maya Devi temple. Evening enjoy Ganges Aarti at Har ki Pauri Ghat. Back to hotel.
    Overnight stay at hotel.

  • Day 02 : Haridwar to Barkot (210kms/7-8hrs drive) HT : 1352 MTS

    Post morning breakfast drive to Barkot via Mussoorie. Enroute enjoy sight-seeing of Gun Hill, Camel back Road, Mall Road, Kempty Fall (Suggested to take your lunch at Mussoorie as further no good restaurants are available before Barkot). Later drive straight to Barkot, transfer to your Hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax and store your energy for the hill yatra of Yamunotri the next day.

  • Day 03 : Barkot to Yamunotri to Barkot {36kms drive & 6kms Trek (one side)} HT : 3291 MT

    Early morning drive to Jankichatti/Phoolchatti, trek start from here to Yamunotri (6kms). Either by walk or by horse or by Doli (at own cost). The trek passes through lush green valley, a profusion of conifers, rhododendrons, cacti and several species of Himalayan shrubs.Arrive Yamunotri, One can cook rice by packing it in a cloth and dipping it in the hot water of the hot kund. Pilgrims take this cooked rice home as “Prasad”. Here near the temple “Pooja” can be offered to Divya Shila. After taking bath in Jamunabai Kund’s warm water and having “Darshan” of pious “Yamunaji” return to Jankichatti. Return back to Barkot.

  • Day 04 : Barkot to Uttarkashi (100kms/4hrs drive) HT:1352 MTS

    After breakfast drive to Uttarkashi. Check into the hotel. Vishwanath temple – Vishwanath temple is one of the oldest Shiva temples in Northern India. Re-constructed in 1857 by Maharani Khaneti Devi of Tehri State in the ancient architectural style. It is situated at the heart of the town. Shakti temple islocated right in front of the Vishwanath temple.

  • Day 05 : Uttarkashi to Gangotri to Uttarkashi (100kms/3-4 each side) HT : 3048 MTS

    Early morning (packed breakfast) drive to Gangotri, enroute at Gangnani take a holy dip in Garam Kund, further drive to Gangotri via beautiful Harsil Valley. Harsil is famous for its natural beauty and for the majestic views of the Deodar trees and mountains. On arrival at Shree Gangotri, take a holy dip in the sacred river Ganges which is also called Bhagirathi at its origin. Perform Pooja and Darshan, after that relax for some time in the lovely surroundings. Later drive back to Uttarkashi.

  • Day 06 : Uttarkashi/Haridwar (185 kms/ 5 hrs drive)

    After breakfast drive to Haridwar. Check into hotel. Later in the evening witness the famous Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri.

  • Day 07 : Haridwar/Rishikesh/Haridwar (20 kms, 30 min drive one way)

    Later drive to Rishikesh. Situated in the foothills of the Himalayas, Rishikesh is a city often called the “Gateway to the Garhwal Himalayas,” renowned for being a major yoga centre all around the globe. Rishikesh is famous for the Beatles Ashram or Chaurasi Kuti, where the band stayed and wrote songs. Rishikesh is also known for ashrams like the Omkarananda Ashram, Andhra Ashram and Madhuban Ashram. Visit Laxman temple, Ram Jhula, Swargashram temple, Triveni Ghat. Later drive to Haridwar. Overnight stay at hotel.
    Tour Ends with happy memories.

  • If due to any reasons beyond our control like landslide, traffic jams, flood, riots, political unrest, bandhs, helicopter unavailability or bad weather conditions, accidents or any other natural or man-made misfortunes, program will needed to be changed or extended. The additional expenditure for the same will have to be borne by the passengersdirectly. Due to these reasons we may cancel some sightseeing places, there shall be no refund for the same

Precaution for Yatra

  • Cover your head with Monkey cap or any other woolen clothes while on high altitude to avoid hill-sickness, giddiness etc. at Kedarnath.
  • Keep on drinking water to avoid dehydration.
  • Trek only on hill-side, avoid trekking or standing on valley side, as pony (horse) coming from opposite direction may push you down to the valley which may cause serious casualty.
  • Packaged Water is available at every place, use only packaged water or boiled water can be obtained from local tea shop during trekking.
